PART2cad (direct integration) simplifies the download of CAD models. They are loaded quickly and directly into the CAD system. Temporarily saving of parts is not necessary.

Precondition: Under Formats -> Add formats -> PART2cad, a format has to be chosen. Your selection is show under Your selection. Example: Selection of "PART2cad Inventor (3D)"

Proceed as follows:

Make sure that the desired part is specified in the Table view (and in the Variable view if there are value range fields).
Generate the part by clicking on the button CAD or Generate CAD.
Button "CAD"
➝ Once the generation finished, the part is displayed in the download area.

Click on the link PART2cad.

Call direct integration "PART2cad"

The direct integration is starting and a respective message appears.

If the application component PART2cad is already installed, this message has no further meaning (continue with selection CAD version), otherwise see following note.

Note

One-time installation of PART2cad

For the direct integration, the application component PART2cad has to be available at the workstation and is downloaded and installed at first use.

Following dialogs may slightly differ depending on used Browser.

Click on the link Download.
Click "Download"
After click on Download a question appears:
Run part2cadstarter.exe? (here exemplarily Internet Explorer)
Confirm by clicking Run.
➝ PART2cad Setup appears.

Confirm with OK.
➝ A message confirms successful installation.
Installation finished successfully.
The dialog PART2cad remained open. Now click on the link here, to start insertion again.
Click "here"
A question is displayed if you want to allow opening a program on the computer by website b2b.partcommunity.com.

If you don't like this dialog to be displayed at each import to CAD, deactivate the option Always ask before opening this type of address (Internet Explorer). [Other Browsers analogously.]
Confirm by clicking on Allow (Internet Explorer).
➝ PART2cad is executed.
After finished process a dialog to select the used CAD version is opened.
Later the transfer of part will always start with this dialog.

Open the list field and select the CAD version where the model is to be transferred. Confirm your selection by clicking on Choose.

Note
Keep in mind that the CAD system has to be started.
➝ A specific dialog box according to the used CAD system is displayed. Perform the required settings.

Select the preferred destination directory. Use ... to browse. Confirm your entries by clicking OK.
➝ The model is transferred to the CAD system.
Model is going to be transferred.
Note
Once the transfer to the CAD system is finished a message will be shown.
CAD transfer complete.
➝ The part has been imported into the CAD system.
If the CAD system is not started or the wrong version was chosen, an error message will be shown.
The transfer could not be done!
