1.1.4.8.1.2. Assign new roles to a specific user

In order to assign a new role (or several) to a specific user proceed as follows:

  1. Optionally you can filter before.

    Detailed information on filters can be found under Section 1.1.3, “Find users”.

  2. Click on the Roles action in the desired user row, in the Actions column.

    -> The Manage user roles dialog opens.

    In the table, all roles of the respective user are displayed.

    In the input fields of column headers, you can optionally filter.

    The user exemplarily used here, has 32 roles. The column "Portal" has been filtered with the term "cadenas".

    • Key: There are two different types of roles. The selected checkbox signalizes that the respective one is a Key role.

      • Key roles allow portal access

      • Roles define what a user is allowed to do or not

      In order to check, which Key roles are available for the respective user, you can click on the Show key roles button in the Actions section.

      -> The Key roles dialog box opens.

      If there are no roles available, then a respective message appears.

    • Info: Portal or catalog name

    • Actions: With click on Delete the respective role is deleted.

  3. Click on the Add user roles action.

    -> The Create user roles page opens.

  4. Directly click on Show all, in order to display all available (not yet assigned) roles

    or

    set filters before.

    You can filter via the Portal input field and the Type and Facet list fields.

      • admin: Portal administration

      • external: Portal operator

      • internal: CADENAS personnel

      • user: Portal user

    • Facet:

  5. Check the desired roles and finally confirm with Add.

  6. If the action was successful then a respective message is displayed.
