1.1.4.3. Activate and deactivate users

A deactivated user cannot register at any portal, but can enable his account with an activation mail or an activation code again.

Regard the difference between Activate / Deactivate and Enable / Disable.

A disabled user can neither register at a portal nor enable his account by himself.

In order to activate or deactivate do the following:

  1. Optionally you can filter before.

    You can find detailed information on this under Section 1.1.3, “Find users”.

  2. Activate one or more users in the Users section.

  3. Click on the Activate users or Deactivate users action.

    The Deactivate users action is only allowed with certain authorizations.

    -> The same-named page opens with a respective message. "Are you sure you want to activate users?"

    In the activation dialog you can determine whether an email notification has to be sent in addition. If yes, then select the Send email notifications checkbox.

  4. Click on the Activate or Deactivate button.

    -> The action is performed.

  5. A respective message is displayed.
